Redshirt Guy Comes Out of Retirement, Serves Up Some Pwnage

Yall ready for this???????????????

So this is meant as Feedback to explain why I feel the Horde is held in higher esteem by those in charge at Blizzard and the story arc for the World Of Warcraft. However my intention is not to complain but to try and chorincle some of the reasons I feel the way I feel and others on the alliance have told me as well. I will also try to offer ways I think could help fix this.

Mounts: Now in an earlier thread another alliance player mentioned the mounts of the alliance so I thought I would start with that. Yes the alliance has fewer, I can understand that  because a Gnome going to all fours and running around while incredibly funny is just plain silly. That being said there is very little reason raise the Rep on Gilneas. There’s no capitol city to get better repairs from and no Mounts means you don’t really need to get exalted with them. To my Knowledge those are the Main reasons to grind reputation with a Alliance/Horde faction. I understand that Worgen presents a difficult problem in what kind of animal a animal-hybrid could or would ride.

Suggestion: So I suggest they don’t have to ride an animal. There’s the obvious Stagecoach, maybe it’s a Alliance only drop off a future boss. I would also like to make a suggestion of a Bicycle, I know it’s alittle silly at first but when you think of a Dapper Worgen riding a Bicycle with his top hat and tuxedo it can make sense, it definetely fits if you put a steam punk rocket on the back for when your going at full speed. Walk speed is using the pedals full speed is the Steam Rocket. This really is’nt a big Pet peeve for me just a minor annoyance.

PVP: Now the Alliance seems to lose more often in PVP, There’s no real hardcore data to prove or disprove this at least that the general public is privy too. Now I am a PVP player, I pvp ALOT more then I do Dungeons and Raids. I am pretty good at it, I am consistantly at the top of the BG’s I play, I’m by no means the best or “Perfect” but I think I’m quite good. The problem I think the Alliance has is what I call and many others also call the lemming effect. The Alliance is there to farm honor there little Alliance pride, I’m here to get my honor points and leave winning is a bonus but not something I strive all the other players on my side are just kill stealers. So that kind of mindset causes Alliance to rarely defend (I always defend). This theory was in my Opinon confirmed shortly after Cata was released and the Worgen entered the fray. I cannot tell you how awesome those days were as an alliance player. The worgen were roaring and biting at the gates wanting to rip through Horde and pull a victory for Gilneas, there were roars and shouts like I had never seen and I watched as the alliance were moving in actual packs! Worgen and non-Worgen were ripping through the Horde! I would kill for those days to come back.

Why are they gone?

Well after you reach level 50 and realize that the great storyline of the Starting quests for the worgen is frankly dropped. Your fervor tends to diminish and you fall back to the lemming effect.

So why does the Alliance seem to lose so much. Faction Pride. Which bring me to….

NPC’s: When you go on the horde side there’s a stronger sense of pride, there’s many heroes for the Horde to look up to.If they are like me they like Vol’jin, Some like Thrall, Some remember Grom, Some worship Slyvannas, there is even some who like Garrosh. Who does Alliance have? Illidian? No he went bad. Arthas? Dang nope he went evil too. Jaina? She was great until she was planted firmly in the “Damsal in Distress” mold. Warcraft 3 Jaina would’ve Sheeped Garrosh when he pushed aside in Dalaran.

Garrosh: “A real warcheif would- Bahhhhh Bahhhh!”

World Of Warcraft Jaina: “Ouch Thrall! He pushed me!” Of all the people I would like to personally see a stronger Personality come out Jaina is at the top of the list. I think of all the people who should be the one to finally send Garrosh packing, It’s Jaina Proudmoore who should get the nod. Jaina would give Thrall back leadership of the Horde and tell Varian

Tyrande? Once again Amazon Wairror wearing her metal bikini protecting her people, becomes the wedding dress wearing: “Just you wait until my husband gets here! Oh when is my husband coming back….” If ANY of the Alliance leaders should be tell Varian how to properly win a war it SHOULD be Tyrande. Malfurian? Last time I saw a horde raid attack his wife he did’nt lift a finger to defend her, which is strange since he was all about protecting his people and Tyrande all through Warcraft 3. If Malfurion has to be this Neutral charecter, then bring back Illidan, I am certain he’ll fight for Tyrande.

Magni Bronzebeard. Great charecter turned to stone. *Sigh* Replaced by the Dwarven council which makes absolutely ZERO sense. I can ONLY hope he comes back as a MAJOR charecter when he eventually thaws out as the prophecy says.
My Friend Gelbin: He just needs more involvement in the world flat out, Cata has definetely been a good step forward for him and the Gnomes in general just need a few more steps in the right direction.

Genn Greymane: Genn Greymane and really all of the Gilnean NPC’s were ones I actually grew to care about more then many other NPC’s. Tobias Mistmantle, Mayor Gwen, Lorna, Crowley etc. Then disappointment as they are dropped like a bad habit. Scattered all over the place. Genn a man well known for his Stubborness literally reduced to being at Varian’s heel. UNACCEPTABLE. Genn is the Hero the Alliance needs.

Velen: Don’t know much about the guy. *Shrugs* A shame don’t you think? He’s the Lore’thamar of the Alliance. Like the Worgen the Draenei need more World involvement.
Now in conclusion it’s tough to be be prideful of a faction when it feels like your faction is made just to provide future bad guys and not that many heroes to be proud of. Once again the Alliance is providing another villian in the Staghelm. Then there’s also what will probably happen with Bolvar.

My suggestion: I think it’s time for the horde to start producing Big Bad Guys. The Alliance members of government need to start acting like a real alliance and not Varian’s lap dogs. World of Warcraft needs to step away from the Orcs Vs. Humans thing going on. I think after Jaina kicks Garrosh’s butt the other factions need to step up. I think horde players too would like to see something other then the Orc’s and Probably the Goblins. I think I’d be getting sick of Goblins if I was on the horde side myself as alliance I am sick of the Goblins.

Assorted other reasons: The Alliance is the only Faction with enemie’s inside a capitol City. Also The Night Elves are in serious danger of losing there capitol.

Suggestion: Open up Gilneas as a true capitol City (And for the horde the Isles) get rid of the Battle for gilneas BG. An awful lot of waste of amazing design in that ghost town.
The war? Is it really already over?: The Horde has three weapons of Mass destruction that could win the war tomorrow. Nukes (Big Bad Bomb), The Goblin Rail gun in Azshara, And of course the Forsakens Biological Weaponry. These weapons are War ending weapons and apprantlly the Alliance does not have a counter for any of these.

Suggestion: Remove them from the equation all together, these weapons don’t really belong in a fantasy RPG. Why are heroes fighting Cho’gall when a nuke can be zepllined in? Bye bye Twilight. Another way is make Malfurion fully on the alliance he’s supposed to be a Immensely powerful being this would create a Cold War mentality of if you use your nukes we use ours. Maybe Giant  Functional Gnome Mechas or Draenei Ion Cannons since we’re going nuts with them.

Blizzard Higher ups (Metzen Etc.): If they could start saying For the Alliance instead of For the Horde that would be nice, but if the Level (Whatever they are now) Elite Tauren Chieftains don’t change themselves immeadetely into a Gnome Boy band I’m not going to ragequit.

As I get off of my Soapbox, I would just like to say thanks for reading this if you did. This is obviously just my Opinon.

And Inb4 “Just another Alliance member complaining about Horde Favoritisim” No that is not my intention. I am not complaining I am giving honest feedback. I put down my observations and suggested ways they can be fixed with Constructive Criticism. I am not planning on Ragequitting WOW. I’ve been playing the Alliance for YEARS now, I have no drive to quit the game if these suggestions are ignored or enactted. A blue wanted feedback for it and I have provided my own, that is all. I Have no intention of ever rolling horde either :D . I hope it’s not too much of a eye sore either.
