Im a retired computer programmer and have beta tested mmos for over 30 years. This is the 2nd game I wish I had not beta tested. Star Trek was the first. Ive played the game thru two beta sessions and it has become obvious SWTOR is no good. It has no space content. It has no economy. Because it has no economy crafting is useless. It is not an mmo. Its a single player game thats played on the internet. I read everything I could about SWTOR before I had the chance to beta test. When I got my invitation I could hardly wait to try the my new space ship that Bioware had been telling us about. What a joke!! My space ship was house that looked like a space ship. No space exploration. Just a combat instance where I could not even control my ship!! Bioware and LucusArts you have done a great job of conning the public!
Star Trek had this same lack of content. Us beta testers complained that the game content was no good but they didnt care. They thought because they had a big fan base the game would succeed. Star Trek had only a 2 week open beta and it was a disaster. They released the game anyway. Now Star Trek is free to play. Bioware has learned from the Star Trek open beta disaster that its better not to have an open beta. Why take a chance on losing paying customers! Yes this game will succeed initially because of the large Star Wars fan base and no open beta, but players will soon find out they could have purchased a Star Wars computer game and get more content.
