No, this is not another thread to sit and complain about how Blizzard needs to nerf everything into the ground so casuals can get welfare epics. I’m completely against that, but I’m looking at a different aspect of casual play, being able to stay ahead even though you’re a casual player. I honestly don’t think this is possible anymore.
For the longest time I’ve struggled with WoW addiction. I eventually came to the conclusion in Wrath that if I didn’t want to do something, I wouldn’t do it, simply because I wouldn’t enjoy myself and I’d be falling back into that addiction that I’ve been trying to stay away from. Now that Cataclysm is out, I’ve stuck to that philosophy. I took my time leveling, I didn’t do heroics or raids if I wasn’t in the mood for them. Honestly, I was able to gear myself for Firelands without setting a single foot into a raid before Firelands. I did this for both my mains: a Warlock and Warrior. Who both have the ability to Tank and DPS Firelands without touching a raid before-hand. My Warrior main tanks in my guild every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and that’s simple enough to be a casual raider.
Now I think my main problem is that you can’t stay ahead with everyone unless you do the Valor Heroics every day and do your Firelands dailies every day. You need the Valors to help gear for Firelands and you need the dailies to unlock even more dailies that eventually, you’ll spend 125 Marks of the Tree to get even more gear and patterns for whatever professions you have. I’m not quite to that point, but its because I’ve fallen behind. Doing 14 Heroics and 28 Dailies every single day is a lot to do. Honestly, I really don’t want to spend all day on WoW doing these things I feel the need to do. Most of my day is spent with my friends and some days at the gym, which of course, overtakes the WoW part of my life.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been able to do the dailies every single day (but not until the end of the day) and finish all the heroics on only one character. The other one, I’d end up staying up as long as I can on Sunday or Monday to finish as many heroics as I could. All I’m saying is that with the introduction to Firelands dailies, dailies no longer seem like a choice. They seem required in order to keep up with gear for Firelands and I just can’t keep up with it as a Casual player. I don’t really know what I’d like changed or if anything needs to be changed at all, maybe its just my loss of enthusiasm for wanting to spend the day on WoW.
Sorry for the lengthy novel, just wanted to tell my story and see if anyone agrees in any way or if there’s any helpful suggestions for me. Thanks for the help
I have been waiting for a good WoW post to come along for me to rage about and my prayers were finally answered! Now in this post there may not be any rage but, we do have some nerd with a sense on entitlement. I really wish I knew how this happened; when did everyone get so whiny? This post is why I will never go back to the world of Warcraft again because the game (and most MMOs really) are about collecting gear or achievements or badges. What happened to raiding to do the fights and experience the content? What happened to actually learning a fight and your class so you could complete the raid? What happened to dumpster blasting the noobs running around in crappy gear?
This is the worst shift in video games. If you don’t want to raid; I really don’t know what you expect when you hit the max level. If you don’t want to PVP; go on a PVE server.
Blizzard make 5 and 10 man dungeons so more people are getting their fat loots and people complain. Blizzard makes it so you can do dailies and get fat loots and the nerd above still can’t “keep up”. Here’s hoping that in SWTOR I can at least Unlimited Power some faggy Jedis.

Regardless of what some blue posts say about there being no proof that they didn’t take them because they’re “bad”, here we go.
When an endgame guild says that a class, even just a class type (resto shaman) has no place in these raids because no matter how good the player, they can’t make the class good, blizz needs to start listening.

A guy asking Paragon why there were no resto shamans
Hi Guys, greatly admire the guild and i salute you upon your recent Ragnaros HC kill.
I am currently lvling a resto shaman, and i got curious as to see the talents, gems, glyphs, etc. that a resto shaman in Paragon would use. But after checking out your shamans, i couldnt help but notice that none of the shamans in your guild has the Ragnaros HC achievement or any HC achievements for that matter. In a 25-man team setup i’d always thought that including all the classes would be a good idea since every class brings something exclusive to the table.
So that makes me wonder if you guys dont like resto shamans, or shamans in general. Not that i have any expert opinion in any shape or form about hardcore 25-man raiding setups. Is this just coincidence, or is there a reason you guys dont like resto shamans?
Just something i noticed, nothing major. Apparently you dont need shamans in order to kill Ragnaros HC.

If you aim for high end raiding, such as top5 guilds do then shaman is the worst healer class currently in game. There is a huge deal of issues with the spec if you need to min/max.
1. Shaman healing is greatly dependent on raids positioning, both main raid healing abilities; healing rain and chain heal can be next to worthless if raid is spread or fight needs constant movement.
2. Lack of raid saving cool downs is a huge deal when raiding on new content with gear from previous tier. Disc priests and resto druids give way better cool downs to deal with incoming dmg then spirit link totem.
3. Even while shamans are able to put up a decent tank healing. While running as few healers as possible makes paladins with beacon better choice.
4. Mana tide is more needed by the shamans them self then other healers, so you don’t really need tide unless you bring shaman. (See what I did there?)
5. Fairly low survivability; only real cool down we have is glyphed stone claw totem
These are just the most obvious issues with the spec currently there is. Also there is few other things but those aren’t so major.
But if you ain’t aiming for cutting edge progress you should be able to perform good as other healers, as long as you stay on top of your game

Yes, I know Resto shamans can be brought.
Yes, I know that Resto shamans exist in peoples raids (I heal in a raid too!)
Yes, I know that plenty of raids have Resto Shamans topping the meters (which can be due to many factors)
Yes, I know that we should “worry” about ourselves when it comes to the class, that as long as we’re doing okay in our personal raid we should be “fine”.So… how do you feel about paragon saying reasons as to why a resto shaman wasn’t brought?
Do you feel that it’s reasonable? (I do FYI, I wouldn’t bring a class that -might- help, I’d bring one that I -KNOW- could pull the weight).
Do you feel that we should all be okay with knowing we’ll be okay in everything but top end game raiding?This is mainly to get the word out there, that Paragon infact, was not going bring a resto shaman over other classes BECAUSE they’re a resto shaman, regardless of what blizzard wants to say. All the reasons they said they didn’t bring one, are all class reasons, not player reasons.

Hello everyone. This is going to be a long one. But well worth your time. This story is copy and pasted pretty much. It brought me to tears and really humbled me. This came up in a discussion, with the person in the story in guild chat.
“Five years ago I was on my way home from work, I worked as a nurse in a prison and I worked evening shift. I got off at 2am, driving him a drunk driver ran me off the road.”
“I was hurt really badly but I remember at one point opening my eyes and seeing the most handsome man holding me in his arms.”
“His lips were moving but I couldn’t hear a thing he was saying, but I felt so safe in his arms.”
“I don’t remeber anything after that until I woke up in the hospital and there this same man was.”
“I’d never seen him before.”
“That was 5 years ago, We’ve been married for years, 4 on Halloween”
“He was a paramedic, He’d been out that night and happend across my accident”

A really touching story….. If anything seemed incomplete it was because there was comments in between.
Now how does this relate to wow? Well for one it doesn’t need to this is a amazing story. BUT here is some more and this is one of the many reasons I posted this.
