At Least They Don’t Claim To Be Compassionate Anymore
on September 13th, 2011 Posted in Uncategorized 6Remember ‘compassionate conservatism’? They lied about the compassionate part then, and everyone knew it.
At last night’s Tea Party-hosted debate, the nation got a glimpse of what exactly conservatives are trying to conserve:
Discussing the individual mandate, CNN’s Blitzer asked Paul a hypothetical question about a young man without insurance who is severely injured and requires hospitalization for six months. Who would pay for his care? Should society “just let him die?” “Yes,” came a few calls from the crowd. It was chilling. Paul said charities would pick up the tab as they did when he was first practiced medicine, in the pre-Medicare era. The macabre audience response wasn’t the first. At the last GOP debate, the mention of Texas’ more than 200 executions drew cheers.
The party of Jesus showing its true colors time and time again.
It is scary the uncaring attitude of many people today. There is no “Jesus Party” Not even the so called Christians. Bill Mauer said it best. To paraphrase. If you do not follow the most important parts of Jesus philosophy completely than you are not truly a Christian, you are just a fan. As someone who considers himself a Christian I look to what the Bible says about them. Romans chapter 2″They will blaspheme my name because of them” Please do not consider these people as the “Christian party”
If they define themselves as Christians, and the Christian party, and the majority of their followers proclaim the same, then that is who they are considered to be.
If ‘true Christians’ do not agree with these people or the beliefs they espouse, the burden is on them to disassociate, dissemble, and disorganize the ‘fake Christians’.
It is also up to reasonable people to see things for what they are. Just because someone calls themself a truck does not make them one. Unfortunately people are easily decieved and manipulated. P.T. Barnum new his stuff. I wish more people would take the time to look behind the curtain. Galatians 5 says “you will know them by their fruits” When you look at what the fruits are in that chapter, you will see these people do not fit the criteria the bible lays out. Of course how many “Christians” take the time to read the Bible.
Its not up to reasonable people to do anything, because reasonable people are not a part of this group by definition.
They are part of this because they vote.
I agree with you that any of these politicians or television/radio personalities that claim they are Christians are not true Christians. They just use that facade so people will listen to them use Christianity as a justification for whatever means they want to carry out. It is all very sad and pathetic because there are plenty of Christians who consider themselves Democrats, Libertarians, Socialist, etc., but it is always the Republicans ( or Tea Partyers in the case of the post above) that cling to religion and use it as a rally issue and even claim to be the more moral/faithful party and that is why the above post was made. The party that claims to be superior through the believe in Jesus and Christianity is cheering for the death of people who get sick.
They may not be the Party of Jesus or the Christian Party in reality but they sure try to scream it at us the most.
