S2 Homeboy

Hello.
As an avid S2 homeboy, I was elated in hearing about the addition of one of the greatest mythological heroes in China, nay the world. Closely observing the development thread, I could feel an overwhelming joy from just reading the reasoning and concepts behind the 4 skills. Having this image in mind, I saw the LoL’s version…and just laughed at how pathetically retarded their “champion” was. They have to BUY it too? Ha ha.

But then… I saw our spotlight…and I felt as if I would slip into a coma from major disappointment.

Q Illusive Dash…OK. Where are the “illusions performing certain parts of the dash”? That’s my biggest concern since this skill was noted to represent the Monkey King’s “hair into clones” technique. The second dash after hitting an enemy is ok, but the tree destruction seems tacked on at the last minute, especially for a 300 range skill.

W. Perfect, might do with increased ranged after a building vault.

E. It seems weird with the exploding rock, but I have no argument for this.

R. Flying Nimbus my god, might as well call it the Derp Nimbus. In my head, I pictured a yellow cloud that at the very least provided flight. This one…is just…sad. This is quite frankly the biggest disappointment in a spell ever since “Back hook” and “Trololo invis mounds” where removed from the game. Never have I wanted to question a new hero’s spell with such fervor . The movement speed buff is ok and the passive buffs quite good. BUT THE DISAPPOINTMENT from not seeing a yellow cloud with the ability to fly over trees and terrain is quite saddening, making the name the name of the ult the only reference to DBZ.

I hope this is a constructive read, and do note that I just saw the spotlight twice, enough to convey some immediate responses of the hero.

tl;dr Go watch Monday Night Raw on tivo

Edit: Here is Nome’s response

That’s why you hear Swiftblade voice saying “Banzai!” during the Heavenly Vault scene. If you listen closely enough, you might even hear Akuma’s “Shoush” from Street Fighter 4 during Wan Jin Slam. The final version of Illusive Dash will have a ton of illusion effects playing.

The tree destruction was added so that you can actually use the ability when there are trees nearby. The ability binds your hero to a projectile, and the projectile cannot go over cliffs. However, if we allowed you to go through trees without killing them, you could simply face a group of trees and jump into them, and your opponents wouldn’t be able to follow you. On the other hand, if we forced you to stop whenever you hit a tree, the ability would become completely unusable if a tree was anywhere close to you.

As for Flying Nimbus, we did toy with the idea of allowing “true” flight, balancing it out with a channel time. I ultimately argued against this, as I felt the channeling time ruined the fluidity of the hero. I’m sure you’ll find the ability indispensable when you play him though.

I see that Illusive Dash will be epic indeed, but I was wondering if it did give invulnerability to spells or target spells. According to the Sound Blog, the clone visual will be played only on heroes.

Also, As for the Nimbus, can’t you make it have less ms while coasting over trees and cliffs? Making it yellow and doing this will make the hero more “fun” while maintaing the epicness of the MK. Because tbh, I would only pick it up for the passive buff for the spells.

Most people are raising good points over the OPness of a carry that can coast over terrain. Only time will tell if the skill is OP or UP.

Edit: No one noticed that the title had a mispelling lol
